Explanation of Counts Per Revolution

The number of pulses or square waves produced per ball revolution (called count per ball revolution) is significant because it defines the resolution, slew rate and precise positioning characteristics of the trackball. We offer all trackballs with various fixed counts per revolution. For serial output models, variable rate is an available option where the basic count is multiplied by 1, 2 or 4 depending on ball speed. This option combines high resolution for fine positioning with high slew rate for rapid cursor movement.
