Ultra MSI Attends ITSS Program

August 31, 2004: In July, Raytheon invited Ultra Electronics Measurement Systems Inc to attend their Industry Day for an ITSS program overview. The ITSS ( Improved Thermal Sight System ) program overview was attended by Ken Tasch and Gordon Zippi.

The ITSS allows military light armored vehicles to see the enemy before they are seen, thus reducing casualties during battle. Ultra MSI will be supplying the hand control and the contract has a potential of over $7 million. The first award will be in the second quarter of 2005.

To support the program, representatives from Raytheon Network Centric Systems visited Ultra MSI in August to complete the requirements for their Six Sigma Supplier Workshop project. Cross functional teams from both companies were formed and all aspects of our product for this program were reviewed.

Both Raytheon and Ultra MSI agreed the initial results were positive and are moving forward to complete additional action items. This was the first Six Sigma exercise for Ultra MSI and the process will be used to augment our Lean Program in the future.
