SH-26 Super Seasprite Helicopters Receive Provisional Acceptance

October 20, 2003: The first of the Royal Australian Navy's 11 new Super Seasprites took to the skies on October 18, 2003. The Super Seasprite is built by Kaman Aerospace and is the most advanced maritime helicopter in the world. With its ability to land on small deck ships, the Super Seasprite sets the standard for advanced small ship helicopter operations. Ultra MSI is proud to be the supplier of the HOCAS (hands on collective and stick) as well as the Crew Hover. These products went through rigorous full flight qualification and certification.

The Super Seasprite will be the primary anti-surface weapon system for the Australian Navy. In addition to a fully integrated and sophisticated suite of sensors and weapons, this multi-mission helicopter will have the capability to fire the Penguin anti-ship missile, and deliver the Mk 46 anti-submarine warfare torpedo.
